Prison a.k.a Drugs Exchange
Three inmates, two in a prison in Bandung and one in Jakarta, Indonesia caught buying 3.3 kilograms of heroine from a woman in Medan. Each of them paid the woman US$ 10,000. The woman was going to deliver the cursed thing when police caught her in her dorm room. This adds to long list of drug exchanges involving inmates in Indonesian prisons. Two months ago, several inmates revolted again prison officers when their "precious cargo" was consfiscated. They said they have collected all of their money to purchase about 10 kilograms of heroines and they intend to share it among them. Really, Indonesian prisons are that corrupt. It is general knowledge that when inmates are put into prisons, they would not be taught to be better men, but to be better crooks. Once inside, homosexualities, brutal initiations, and drug addictions await them. Some of them are even inducted into a "family", and when released, will be "family operatives". And prison officials would do nothing to stop them. Some of them even actively encouraging the activities by demanding tributes from the inmates. Tributes in form of bribe money and share of drugs. This corruptions of penal system will not go away soon, it seems, because all level of officials, from lowly prison officers to the president of the nation gives no significant thoughts on eradicating this habits. Some political party members even operate behind bar and controlling their parties activities. And to tell you the truth: some political party members, many of them legislative members, are drug addicts. |
